Ingredients (2 servings)
- 3-4 tbsp ghee or coconut oil
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 500 g potatoes
- 500 g white fish fillets (e.g. codfish)
- 2 paprika of choice
- 4 tomatoes
- 4-6 bay leaves
- 3 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 pinch salt & pepper
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp chili flakes (optionally)
- 50 ml vinegar
- 600 ml water
- as needed cilantro
- as needed dill weed (optional)
Instructions
- Slice onion and mince garlic clove.
- Peel potatoes and cut into slices.
- Cut paprika into stripes.
- Dice tomatoes.
- Cut fish fillets in half midways.
- Heat ghee or coconut oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Sauté onion two minutes and add garlic.
- Once, they turn golden, add potato slices and cook in saucepan with lid on for 6-8 minutes.
- Add fish fillets, fish sauce, and a generous pinch of salt.
- Add bay leaves, deglaze with water, and top with tomatoes and paprika.
- Add vinegar, paprika powder, (optionally chili flakes), and a pinch of pepper.
- Let simmer for about 30 minutes and then serve with cilantro (and optionally dill weed).
